Uni scheme scoops three RIBA awards

LANCASTER University Engineering Building, the multi-million facility completed by Preston-based Eric Wright Construction in March, has scooped three RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) awards for the North West.
Designed by national architect John McAslan & Partners, the 50,600 sq ft engineering facility beat stiff competition to take home a regional award for Architectural Excellence, along with special awards for ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Project Architect of the Year’.
The project was one of just eight North West schemes to win a regional RIBA Award at a prestigious ceremony hosted by BBC 5 Live’s OJ Borg at Halle St Peters in Manchester.
The scheme will now go forward to compete in the RIBA National Awards, being held on Thursday 18th June 2015.
