Administrators appointed at Baa Bar parent

THE parent company of leisure company Baa Bar has been placed into administration amid a restucturing of its balance sheet.

All seven bars are still trading, despite the appointment of business advisory firm Deloitte to the Baa Bar Group plc, whose more recently-filed accounts show it had annual sales of £10.7m in the year to April 2013.

A spokesman for the Liverpool-based business said: “This is the top co – it’s non trading.  The business has effectively gone through a  bank and shareholding restructure.

“Baa Bar Limited, which has been the trading company for 25 years, is completely unaffected. For the management team and every other aspect of the company it’s business as usual.”

Baa Bar has three sites in its home city in Liverpool, two in Manchester and bars in Leeds and Nottingham. Last year it closed a third Manchester site in the student suburb Fallowfield.
