Prescot homes scheme making headway

THE first phase of development work at a major new residential scheme in Prescot, Knowsley is now at an advanced stage.

Prescot Park is being developed on the 60 acre former BICC site off Carr Lane, Prescot and will provide more than 650 homes on a once brownfield site.

Prescot Park will also see the arrival of a new £5m Home Bargains store, close to the existing Cables Retail Park area.

The first new homes are due to start on site this year and local jobs are expected to be created within the construction industry as well as businesses within the supply chain.

Prescot Park is currently undergoing extensive remediation work with former buildings already demolished and will see the site providing full infrastructure to a number of regional and national house builders who are expected on site later this year.

Consulant on the project was Bolton-based The Vinden Partnership.

Its regional director Martin Bennett said: “We were delighted to contribute our services to the Prescot Park brownfield site, as the transformative development of 650 new houses promises further growth and regeneration for an area with exciting potential.

“Following our new government’s pledge to address what continues to be a serious housing shortage, in the regions particularly, it’s encouraging to see projects such as these taking off and improving life for local residents.”
