Legal briefs: Squires hit the road; Mills & Reeve; & more

THE Manchester and Leeds offices of Squire Patton Boggs joined forces to stage a charity cycle ride, the Pedal Power Tour of the Roses.
The 70-mile cycle ride, which followed part of Stage 1 of the 2014 Tour de France, took place earlier this month to raise cash for Barnardo’s.
Manchester and Leeds office managing partners, Rob Elvin and John Alderton, were joined on the cycle ride by more than 70 lawyers and clients and raised more than £15,000.
Elvin said: “We all enjoyed last year’s Tour de France and I count myself as one of many lawyers in this office that were keen to cycle the route and see for ourselves the scale of the challenge, but to do it for a worthwhile cause.
“Donations are still coming in, but we expect the final total to be in excess of £15,000. As so many people enjoyed the day, we will look to make this event an annual fixture in the future.”
