Appointments: Hill Dickinson; Bromleys; Bilfinger GVA & more

LAW firm Hill Dickinson has bolstered its national health team with a senior appointment who will be working in the Manchester and Liverpool offices.

Georgina Rowley joins the firm as a Consultant. She previously worked at Hempsons, where she spent two and a half years as head of the healthcare advisory team specialising in healthcare law including consent and capacity, Court of Protection, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, commissioning, mental health and risk management issues.

BROMLEYS has strengthened its family team with the appointment of solicitor Samantha Clifford.

She qualified in 2010 and has previously worked at North West firms SAS Daniels, Stephensons and Southerns Solicitors.

Clifford specialises in advising clients on prenuptial agreements, property division, divorces involving business assets, civil partnership dissolutions and matrimonial loan agreements, along with all other financial matters arising from separations, divorces and cohabitation disputes.

Her arrival takes the number of fee earners in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester-based Bromleys’ family team to nine, one of the largest in Greater Manchester, and overall staff numbers at the Tameside practice to 48.

She said: “I’m delighted to join Bromleys. The firm has an excellent reputation, a strong and loyal client base and progressive plans for the future.”

BILFINGER GVA has further expanded its North West offering with the appointment of David Harrison as Associate in its property management consultancy team.

With more than 20 years’ experience, David will be based out of Bilfinger GVA’s Manchester and Liverpool offices.

He will be responsible for the day to day client management of a diverse mix of properties including Danish investors, shopping centres, private investor management and mixed use portfolios. David will also work with the firm’s retained clients including Kristensen, Liverpool University and LPA Receiver.

Joining from The University of Liverpool where he was estates manager, Harrison’s previous role saw him responsible for the day to day management of the university’s property portfolio as well as leading the Estate Strategy.

David’s career began at Liverpool City Council as a Chartered Surveyor in the Valuation and Management divisions, before managing mixed use portfolios at Robert Pinkus Co and Spencer Holdings.

David said: “I’m thrilled to be joining a talented team with such a strong offering. Bilfinger GVA has an excellent reputation with a raft of high profile clients across the region. I’m looking forward to adding my experience to and playing a part in the anticipated growth of the business unit.”

A PRESTON law firm has augmented its personal injury team by making a senior promotion.

Birchall Blackburn Law on Avenham Street has promoted Chris Bolton to associate solicitor.

Bolton, who is from Darwen, qualified as a solicitor in 2000. He specialises in all aspects of personal injury, acting on behalf of clients who have been injured across a wide range of areas including accidents at work; public liability claims; accidents on holiday and road traffic accidents.

NORTH West accountancy firm CLB Coopers has announced the promotion of Andrew Feeke to partner.

Feeke joined the firm as a graduate trainee in 1999 and was promoted from senior manager to Associate in 2013.

His promotion will see him take the role of advisory partner, working predominently in the Manchester office. He will continue to work with a portfolio of North West and wider UK-based owner-managed businesses, SMEs and quoted companies providing audit services and also with CLB Coopers’ corporate finance team on transactions for their portfolio clients.

“I am thrilled with the opportunity to join the partnership and look forward to working with my clients to achieve their aspirations,” he said.

NORTH West law firm Hillyer McKeown has promoted Paul Marsh to its senior management team.

He also becomes an equity partner in the firm which has offices in Chester, Wirral and North Wales.

McKeown joins managing partner Steve Harvey and fellow partners Richard Burnett, Lindsey Kidd and Caroline Jones on the senior management team.

Hillyer McKeown, which already employs 65 people across its three offices, provides clients with a comprehensive range of business and personal legal services.
