Media mix: RealTimeUK; Outcider; Context Public Relations & more

ANIMATION studio RealtimeUK has embarked on major documentary series project for Sky Channel Yesterday.

The Manchester-based company has joined forces with production company Impossible Factual and Canadian outfit Saloon Media to create the ambitious series Mummies Alive.

Working with Impossible’s creative animation director Christian Johnson, RealtimeUK’s in-house BAFTA winning artists created all the detailed historical reconstruction sequences for the series, which will also air on the Smithsonian Channel in the US, History Canada, SBS in Australia and ZDF in Germany.

The animation depicts everything from the Wild West, Iron Age Ireland to Incan  Empire within the six-part documentary.

Following Realtime UK’s impressive work on the marketing film for the WW2 video game, ‘Warthunder’, which received over five million views on YouTube, the team were approached to bring their honed techniques to factual television.

The company’s crew were tasked with developing a series of different characters within tight time constraints, using a number of software solutions including Max, V-Ray, Hair farm, Krakatowa, Ray fire, Particle flow and FumeFX.

Managing director of RealtimeUK Tony Prosser described the project as an “exciting use of new production processes and film-making techniques” for the animation studio that will benefit from our 19 years of development in related animation industries.

“The Mummies Alive project has also benefited from the real fusion of broadcast VFX artists and supervisors that all joined the RealtimeUK team last year – adding to the teams existing talent pool by bringing many years of VFX broadcast expertise.”

A NEW jobs board – more akin to a dating website – has been launched for the hospitality industry.

Husband-and-wife team James and Ilona Alcock have laucnehd TheJobsMenu.com from their base in St Helens.

It presents job vacancies directly to candidates from a selection of renowned hospitality brands – no agencies – which include the likes of The Restaurant Group, the parent company of Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito – as well as itsu, Be At One, The Dorchester Collection and Absolute Taste.

Ilona Alcock, who is operations director, said brands and job candidates often feel miles apart, as the recruitment process is too complex and formalised.

“With so many different brands working with an array of agencies, the whole recruitment process has become messy and complex. As a forward-thinking online jobs board, we’re here to shake things up,” she said.

“We focus solely on hospitality roles. We work directly with a multitude of high-profile brands, and we present their job openings in the most engaging way possible.”
