Windermere guest house changes hands

THE Coppice guest house in Windermere in the Lake District has been sold from an asking price of £895,000 by the specialist hotels team at real estate advisors Colliers International.

Acting on behalf of retiring owners Chris and Barbara Gabbott, Colliers International sold the property on Brook Road to Neil and Beverley Palmer who are relocating from Braintree in Essex.

The Coppice features nine ensuite letting bedrooms and a separate owner’s cottage with two bedrooms.

Haydn Spedding, associate director, hotels agency at the Manchester office of Colliers International, secured the sale and said: “The Coppice is a classic example of a traditionally built Lakeland guest house.

“Its sale is further evidence of increasing activity in this sector of the hotels market with heightened confidence among potential buyers being driven by the strengthening of the wider economy.”
