Regatta House deal plain sailing

REGATTA House at Salford Quays has been sold by GGM Properties to Hamill Investments for an undisclosed sum.

Hammill has occupied the building for 18 months, providing 35 services office suites in the 14,600 sq ft space and its success has led to the firm exercising the option in their lease to purchase the building.

Peter Smith of GGM Properties said:  “We purchased the building in the challenging economy of 2007 and appointed OBI Property and Canning O Neill as our agency team.

“Having brought Hamill Investments to the building, everyone has worked together to secure a great result.  This was not a conventional disposal and it took a lot of effort in structuring the transaction, making sure ourselves and Hamill Investments got the best deal possible.”

Legal advice was provided by Tom Orton of Atticus legal who acted for GGM Properties.  KBL Solicitors acted behalf of Hamill Investments.

Chris Neill, managing director at Hamill, said: “The scheme’s waterside location and its close proximity to MediaCityUK, its transport links and future potential were the main factors that made this such an attractive investment opportunity.”
