Wirral Satellite swallows local rival

TAXI company Wirral Satellite Cars has acquired Heswall Taxis in a deal which sees the total fleet increase to more than 300 vehicles.

Family-run Wirral Satellite is the Wirral’s larges taxi company and operates from headquarters in Birkenhead.

Chairman of Davy Liver Group and owner of the company, Chris Jordan said: ““Technology has brought great change to the taxi industry as consumers use technology to demand taxis like never before.

“Regardless of how functional your digital platforms are, as a local taxi firm, we still need to ensure that adequate numbers of cars are on the road for the demands of our passengers.

“As we make significant improvements in the way taxis are booked and requested by consumers, we see a clear growth and therefore have expansion plans for not only Wirral Satellite Cars, but our sister company Davy Liver Taxis in Liverpool.”

General manager Andrew Jordan, said: “The recent purchase of Heswall Taxis sees significant growth in our fleet, drivers and overall demand in Heswall, Irby, Pensby and the surrounding areas. As the largest taxi company in the Wirral we are constantly improving, through developments and investment, the way we operate and provide our taxi services, as a direct response to our customers’ evolving needs and expectations.”

The value of the takeover deal was not disclosed.
