Appointments: Freshfield; the Eword; Planning Inspectorate & more

PRESTON-based marketing communications consultancy Freshfield has appointed Laura Wild to its PR team.

She has joined the organisation as a senior PR executive from daily newspaper the Lancashire Evening Post.

During her time at the LEP Wild covered a range of topics including business, health and local government, while working closely with a number of national and local charities for campaigns and fundraising appeals. Many of her stories were picked up by the national media.
 
Laura has a BA (Hons) degree in journalism from the University of Central Lancashire and also holds the National Qualification in Journalism.

The 26-year-old will support client PR, content marketing and social media programmes across a broad portfolio of clients.

Freshfield managing director Simon Turner said: “Laura has a great reputation within the regional business community and her passion and ability make her a natural fit for the PR and communications industry.

MANCHESTER digital marketing agency theEword has made a series of new appointments across its departments as it looks to service new and existing client demand.

The new arrivals bring the total headcount at the specialist content marketing agency to 45.

Among the new appointments are Sian English, marketing manager, Becca Boone, account manager, Rebecca White PPC executive, while both Niamh Spence and Scott Beaman have become creative content executives.

Managing director Daniel Nolan, said: “theEword has grown consistently, both in terms of headcount and revenue since it launched.

“With a number of client wins since the start of the year and a strong pipeline of new business, we’re currently on a drive to recruit talented people that can help in continuing to deliver compelling, forward thinking digital marketing campaigns.”

LONG-serving Turley director Paul Singleton is to join the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) from September.

The Planning Inspectorate deals with planning appeals, national infrastructure planning applications, examinations of local plans and other planning-related and specialist casework in England and Wales.  The Planning Inspectorate is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Singleton has been with Manchester-based Turley for 23 years and has been a key contributor to the development of the company.  Formerly office director in Manchester he latterly headed up the firm’s expert witness and CPO service.

His replacement will be Bob May, an experienced planner and director of 20 years with Turley and will bring track record and business skills to the role.

Chief Executive Rob Lucas of Turley said: “I am delighted for Paul.  The Inspectorate will gain an experienced and wise practitioner.  We are most grateful for Paul’s exceptional efforts over the last 23 years and he joins PINS with our very best wishes.”

Singleton said: “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to move into a third stage of my planning career and look forward to the new challenges that being a Planning Inspector will bring.  I am grateful to Turley for all the support they have given me over the years and know that the company will continue to go from strength to strength.”

MACCLESFIELD-based IT consultancy Delta Comtech, has promoted former technical account manager, Carl Enser to the role of sales director after less than two years at the company.

Enser, from Bollington, originally joined the company  in November 2013. He has a technical consulting background and expertise in Cloud Computing.

He said: “I am delighted with the new position at Delta and am looking forward to the challenge I have ahead.  It’s been an exciting 24 months, we have worked hard to raise the profile of the company particularly with the professional sector in the North West and our strategy is to continue to build on the foundations we have laid and increase the footprint of the company across the region.”
