Go-ahead for 50 homes near Lancaster

OUTLINE planning permission has been granted for 50 homes in the village of Galgate near Lancaster.

Harrison Pitt Architects marketed and sold the 4.35 acre site known as Launds Fields to Persimmon Homes on behalf of the landowner.

The developer is now building 35 houses for private sale and 15 affordable homes targeted at first-time buyers and families.

Richard Wooldridge, a director of Lancaster-based Harrison Pitt, said: “We’ve worked very closely with the landowner to deliver a solution that enables them to unlock the value in the site and allow much-needed new housing to be built in an area where there is high demand.

“This project further demonstrates our expertise in gaining planning permission for new homes on behalf of landowners by taking a partnership approach.”

The two, three and four bedroom development has been designed to complement existing housing in the area, including the nearby Crofters Fold development.

The predominantly greenfield site was previously occupied by storage buildings and a licensed caravan site and amenity block.
