N Wales hotel on the market

A NORTH Wales hotel with views of Cardigan Bay and Criccieth Castle has been put on the market.

Bodlondeb Hotel in Criccieth is being offered for sale by Colliers International on behalf of its retiring owners, with an asking price of £350,000.

The three-star property features up to 12 letting bedrooms, a dining room, residents’ lounge and bar and owners’ apartment and lounge.

Neil Thomson, associate director, hotels agency at the Manchester office of Colliers International, says the property offers an opportunity for an operator wanting to expand the business. Just nine of the 12 bedrooms are currently being let, as the remaining three must be renovated.

The hotel also has the potential to be converted into up to five apartments, subject to planning permission, offering an opportunity for a local developer.

Thompson said: “It’s a great time for first time operators to acquire a business such as Bodlondeb Hotel with banks returning to the provision of funding for the so-called lifestyle buyer seeking good quality operations.

“Criccieth itself is an increasingly attractive location for business having recently secured new investment with Dylans Restaurant  opening its second site and attracting new customers and their spending power to the town.”
