Appointments: PM+M; Dow Schofield Watts & more

LANCASHIRE accountancy and wealth management firm PM+M has appointed a new partner in its corporate services team.

Helen Clayton has joined the Blackburn-based firm from Deloitte where she was a director in its entrepreneurial business team.

She will take on a number of clients of Stephen Anderson – the firm’s former  managing partner who is retiring next year. .

Clayton said: “I’m thrilled to join PM+M as it’s such a dynamic and well respected firm. I was particularly impressed with its plans for growth, and I see it as a great opportunity for me to work with a management team that is clearly focused on the future.”

DOW Schofield Watts, the specialist professional advisory and equity finance firm, has expanded its Daresbury head office with the appointment of Callum Sellar as a corporate finance executive.

Sellar joins DSW after five years with KPMG where he qualified as a chartered accountant.

He said: “I am keen to develop a corporate finance career and DSW provides me with a unique opportunity to work closely with probably the most experienced team in the North. DSW has a formidable reputation, this was an opportunity that doesn’t come along for many people.”

MANCHESTER-based insurance provider, Caunce O’Hara, has promoted Natalie Albert as commercial amid strong growth so far this year.

Albert, who was previously head of broking at the firm, said: ““I’m thrilled to be taking on the role of commercial director at such a crucial time for the business. Recent growth has allowed us to invest not only in our people, but also in our brand image and culture.
 
“We will be completing a major corporate rebrand in the autumn and I’ve no doubt that this will be instrumental in helping to build Caunce O’Hara’s presence within target sectors – something that’s a significant commercial objective, along with communicating our innovation.”

DJS Research,  the Stockport market research agency has announced four promotions and two new hires.

Alistair Smith has been promoted from senior data executive, to operations manager for data services; Liam Higgins has been promoted to senior research executive; Matt Walker, who joined initially joined the team in 2014 as junior research executive, has received his second promotion and is now also a senior research executive.
 
Beth Harcourt has been elevated from her previous role of marketing and communications assistant to marketing coordinator.

Meanwhile Christine Scally joins the team as a field recruitment executive and Holly Slater as field recruitment executive.
 
Matt Coulling, operations director said: “These promotions re-iterate our commitment to internal development and progression. We are planning additional hires later in the year as part of our growth strategy.”

AVALON, the provider of pre-paid funeral plans, has restructured its marketing team as it expands into new territories.
 
As part of the new structure, Robert Kirkhope, previously marketing manager, has been appointed head of marketing, Europe.  He will focus on continuing to develop the marketing operation in Spain and Portugal.
 
In other appointments, Becky Laurie, formerly marketing supervisor Costa Blanca South, Murcia and Almeria, becomes marketing manager Eastern Spain, Sharon Hitchcock, formerly marketing supervisor Costa del Sol becomes marketing manager Western Spain and assistant marketing supervisor Julie Rickers Durrant becomes marketing supervisor for Almeria.

CHARTERED surveyors and property advisers Gerald Eve has appointed Neil Higson as an associate at the firm’s Manchester office.

Higson has joined the team focused on investment agency across the North West. With experience of investment acquisitions and disposals throughout the region, Neil will work with agency partner Jason Print.

Higson is the fourth high-profile appointment to the Marsden Street-based team in 2015, following the arrival of partners David Law, Jason Print and Colin Harrop.
