£1m safe deposit centre opens

A £1m safe deposit centre built in Manchester has now opened.
The centre, in Great Ancoats Street, has more than 5,500 safe deposit boxes housed in a purpose-built high security vault.
Access is controlled by a combination of swipe card, key and biometric fingerprint testing.
It’s the only Grade 10 security vault in the North West – the standard approved by the Metropolitan Police.
Holly Hulston, manager of the Safe Deposit Centre, said: “We are delighted to be opening the centre for clients’ deposits after many months of meticulous preparation.
“So many High Street banks have withdrawn their safe deposit service that there’s a growing need for what we provide. With 100 years experience in the security industry, our company has left no stone unturned to provide a top-notch facility. Visitors have been extremely impressed by the technology we use.
“The security of our clients and their belongings is our prime concern so we also provide free on-site car park right next to the building.”
The Safe Deposit Centre is now looking at other sites in the North West to develop additional vaults.
