Relocation plans for fast-growing insurance start-up

INSURANCE broker Well Dunn is planning to relocate to larger office space later this summer as it continues to expand.
The Manchester-based firm has grown from 13 members of staff to 50 with its Insurance Revolution brand, which focuses on areas such as impounded vehicles, motor trade insurance and insurance for those with convictions, turning over a gross written premium of over £2.5m in its first 12 months of trading, leaving the business with a group combined turnover of just under £6.5m.
Well Dunn began trading in 2013 and has seen a 300% growth in terms of employees in the past year since the launch of the Insurance Revolution.
The business is looking to move all staff to a new home in the city centre in September. The new office space will be three times larger than its current space in Peter House and allow for further growth.
Paul Dunn, director, said: “When I set up Well Dunn I wanted to break free of restrictions and be truly independent. We set up and had a successful and steady first 12 months which provided a solid base for the launch of Insurance Revolution into the non-standard motor market. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength. We need to move into our new offices and continue the growth plans.”
The company was recently shortlisted in the Insurance Start-up category at the British Insurance Awards in London.
Mark Rigby, head operating officer, said: “We were delighted to have been shortlisted at the British Insurance Awards this year and had a great time at the event. We were up against some big players who have secured large amount of backing so to be recognised in the same category as them, when we are a more traditional self funded start up is fantastic.”
The business operates under a number of trading names including Well Dunn Insurance Services, Insurance Revolution and 5 Star Insurance Services, and is looking to launch a number of additional businesses.
