Law firm puts expert in charge of new mis-selling offer

LIVERPOOL law firm Hampson Hughes Solicitors has launched a new financial mis-selling department and installed industry expert Shirley Shacklady at its helm.
Shacklady is now set to advise clients which believe they have been mis-sold a range of products including credit cards, store cards, loans, CPP, packaged bank accounts, mortgages, debt consolidation products, life insurance, critical illness plans and interest rate swaps.
She has more than 14 years’ experience in helping people and was the first professional to achieve redress of PPI on a credit card and on a mis-sold mortgage.
Shacklady has spearheaded theestablishment of dedicated mis-selling departments in more than 10 companies.
She said: “The PPI mis-selling scandal is bigger than all industry experts predicted.
“Of more than £22.2bn set aside by banks for PPI alone, only £11.5bn has been paid out in redress so far – the end is not nearly in sight.
“Our aim at Hampson Hughes Solicitors is to right financial wrongs and we will strive to deliver the best customer service and to provide the right advice to all of our clients.”
Hampson Hughes joint managing director Paul Hampso said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch this new service area which represents further growth for Hampson Hughes Solicitors. Mis-sold financial products continue to dominate the headlines with millions of people affected. We’re therefore delighted to have Shirley on board to spearhead this new department.”
