Housing round-up: Coming developments across the region

EAST Cheshire councillors are expected to give the green light for a total of 409 new homes.

Its strategic planning board meets next Wednesday, August 26, when it will adjudicate on applications which include a request for outline consent for a 175-homedevelopment on land south Park Road Wallaston, by Stretton Wallaston Ltd.

Another application is for a 154-home development of two-storey detached, semi-detached and mews dwellings from Redrow Homes and Anwyl Homes at Middlewich Road, Sandbach.

Meanwhile, Persimmon Homes North West also want to build 80 homes – 24 affordable – at Middlewich Road Holmes Chapel. The application also includes the creation of public open space and a children’s play area.

PLANS to build 71 new family homes have been approved by Lancaster City Council.

The development in Stoney Lane in Galgate will see a mix of two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom semi-detached and detached houses built by Story Homes.

Up to 40% will be affordable — designated for local people.

The site will also include a public open space and play area, which the whole community will be able to use.

The scheme was approved subject to the completion of the legal agreement by Lancaster City Council’s development management committee in June, with 13 members voting in favour and one abstention.

SIXTY planned new family homes in north Liverpool could support up to 258 jobs as well as funding more affordable homes for the city.

Plans submitted by Redrow Homes are destined to create the Liverpool Housing Partnership’s first new homes in the north of the city.

The planning application covers the 6.5-acre former site of two schools, Redbridge and Bank View High Schools, off Sherwood’s Lane, Fazakerley.

The two community special schools have now merged and, from September 2015, will occupy a new £5m facility on Long Lane.

The state of the art facilities form part of the Mayor’s £169 million Liverpool Schools Investment Programme, which is seeing at least 12 schools rebuilt or refurbished across the city.

With the two schools now relocated, their former sites will be purchased by Redrow as part of the Liverpool Housing Partnership – allowing the City Council to invest the proceeds into the city’s housing programme, which will offer affordable new homes through its partner Liverpool Mutual Homes.
