Appointments: Nexus Planning; NFU Mutual; Bilfinger GVA & more

PLANNING and regeneration consultancy Nexus Planning has appointed Helen Hartley as a senior planner in its Manchester office.
 
She has joined  from Armstrong Rigg Planning in Bedford and prior to that she was part of the planning team at the Emerson Group in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
 
Hartley’s experience includes delivering commercial, residential and mixed use planning projects.

The appointment is the latest in a series of hires in Nexus’ Manchester office: Damien Cutting recently joined as a senior planner, and Justin Cove was promoted to associate director earlier in the year.

RURAL insurer NFU Mutual has installed George Green as its sales manger for the North West.

Previously a sales development consultant with the company, Green – also a qualified commercial pilot – has worked for the insurer for six years and will now lead a team of sales consultants who will drive sales growth through the company’s network of offices in Cumbria and Lancashire.

Green likes to take to the sky in his spare time and undertook most of his training at Blackpool airport.  He admits that his time in the air has given him a unique perspective of the area.

BILFINGER GVA Manchester has appointed Kate Deakin as principal surveyor in its independent healthcare team.

Deakin, who has joined the agency’s nine strong team, will be responsible for undertaking valuations of healthcare properties across the country for a range of clients across the health and social care sector including banks, operators, charities and private investors.
 
With more than 10 years’ experience, she has undertaken valuations of properties within the care, hotel, medical and licensed sector.
 
She has also provided valuation advice for high net worth individuals, large corporate institutions and all of the major high street lenders.

For the last five years, Kate has specialised in the valuation of solely trading properties.
 
She said: “I am excited to be joining the independent health with its excellent reputation and range of high-profile clients.”

BRUNTWOOD and MSP have recruited Nick Hynes to assist the existing team with the delivery of the commercial and residential elements of both their Alderley Park and Booths Hall developments in Cheshire.

Hynes will bring to bear nearly 40 years’ experience in the property industry in which time he built a property portfolio of £100m, advised a number of financial institutions and developed the award-winning Birchwood Park in a JV with MEPC.

He was managing director of Magnus Ltd prior to setting up his own consultancy and advises Cheshire East Council on the regeneration of town centres. He recently completed a consultancy role at Manchester Airport City.
 
Development director at Bruntwood and MSP Chris Roberts said: “Nick joins us at an exciting time for both projects as we develop the masterplan for the collaborative community on the 400 acre parkland site at Alderley Park and look to invest further in the commercial offer at Booths Park to complement the existing site.”

MANCHESTER-based architect Michael Hyde and Associates have appointed director Paul Chadwick as its new head of residential.

He replaces Tom Green, who has left the practice after 26 years.

Chadwick said: “We are grateful to Tom for the contribution he has made over the past 26 years.

“He has been committed to delivering an excellent service to our clients; something which runs firmly through our ethos.  We want to thank him for his dedication to the practice and wish him well.”
