Appointments: Irwin Mitchell; Beech Tree Private Equity; Redbridge Interiors & more

THE Manchester office of law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has appointed two associates to its fast growing business department.
 
Ian Mylrea joins the firm’s pensions team to work alongside recently appointed partner Andrew Ashley Taylor.

Moving from Clyde & Co, Mylrea has wide-ranging experience of advising corporates, trustees, providers and insurers on the full spectrum of pensions law issues, including corporate M&A, corporate restructuring exercises, funding negotiations, pensions litigation, liability management exercises, pensions insurance contracts.

He has particular expertise in relation to executive, overseas and international pension schemes.
 
His appointment marks the latest investment by Irwin Mitchell in growing its national pensions team. In the last 12 months, the firm has appointed three pension partners including DWF’s national head of department, Martin Jenkins.

The firm also welcomes Patricia Banno-Thornton who has also joined as an associate in the real estate team. She joins from DLA Piper in Manchester and has a wealth of experience in non-contentious real estate matters, including acquisitions and disposals, investment property and property management matters as well as landlord and tenant work.

BEECH Tree Private Equity has recruited Adam Rudd.

Rudd joins the company with offices in Manchester and Birmingham from GP Bullhound, the European technology investment bank, where he helped established the Manchester office with managing partner Hugh Campbell.

Prior to this he held senior positions at Gresham Private Equity, KPMG, AO.com and Brewin Dolphin corporate finance.

“We are really pleased Adam has chosen to join the team, he brings with him a raft of experience both advising and investing in technology and technology enabled companies.”

INTERIOR fit-out and design company Redbridge Interiors has installed Daniel Cross as its new business development manager the Manchester company celebrates its 10th anniversary.
 
Cross, a former teacher with experience of both primary schools and further education institutions, previously held marketing positions with a main contractor and a facilities management company in the North West prior to re-training as a teacher.

“I know it looks strange” says Daniel “but teaching was never my goal.  I was offered the opportunity to accept funding and re-train.  It was an amazing opportunity so I took it.”

“With this added experience of working directly within a classroom of 20 plus children, I don’t think anyone can have a better understanding of the needs clients from schools and colleges have.”

Redbridge Interiors has a wealth of experience delivering to the education sector and has recently completed the £1m internal design and fit-out of the seventh floor of Peel owned White Tower in MediaCityUK for a post-production company, including the installation of several multi-media suites and a purpose built, soundproof recording studio.

PROFESSIONAL services firm WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff has welcomed four new senior hires as part of an ongoing recruitment drive.
 
The company now claims to be one of the largest professional services and engineering consultancies in the North West employing more than 590 staff across its two sites at Salford Quays and Oxford Road, Manchester.
 
The highways team has two new senior appointments including associate Neil Garton Jones, who joins with a remit to grow the business in North Wales and the North West region.

He joins the company from Gwynedd Consultancy in Wales, having worked on a number of high profile projects in the country including the £7.6 m Tywyn Coastal Defence scheme.
 
Associate Paul Chambers also joins the highways team with almost 30 years of industry expertise including 13 as a chartered engineer.

Sarah Clenshaw has joined the group as associate in the company’s sustainability and energy team from her previous role at NIFES Consulting Group, bringing with her more than 20 years’ expertise in the design and project management of mechanical building services.

Richard Hayward has also arrived in the development and infrastructure team as principal engineer. He has more than 10 years’ experience in the sector, having previously worked at Curtins Consulting Ltd.
