Appointments: NorthEdge Capital; TLT; PMI Health Group & more

NORTHEDGE Capital, the private equity firm focused on investing in businesses in the North of England, has strengthened its team with the appointment of Harry Jones as an investment executive in its Manchester office.
 
Jones has arrived from Deloitte, where he qualified as a chartered cccountant in the Corporate Finance M&A Advisory team and advised on a range of major transactions including disposals, management buyouts, mergers and acquisitions.

Most recently, Jones advised Palatine Private Equity on its sale of Wealth at Work to Equistone Partners Europe.
 
He will now work on the firm’s investment opportunities across the North West.

Jones said: “NorthEdge is one of the best-known and most prolific private equity houses in the North of England, with a strong and distinctive brand.

“I have worked closely with NorthEdge in the past and have seen the difference it is able to make through its collaborative and passionate approach to investing in exceptional businesses. I look forward to working with the team and building the business across the North.”

NorthEdge has made 11 investments from its maiden fund, representing more than £140m of investment into the Northern business community during the last two and a half years.

TLT continues to grow its Manchester office with the arrival of a five-strong corporate and commercial team from Millbank Edge.

The team includes corporate partners Ian Roberts and Andrew Needham, and commercial partner Pauline Cowie along with associate Rachel Westwell and solicitor Sam Jones.

TLT’s Manchester-location head Graeme Orchison said: “We want to attract leading players in the North West to support our clients here and across the UK.
 
“And, we are doing that. We have built an 80 plus  strong Manchester team from a standing start in just over two years.

“This is a major achievement in a competitive market for talent and shows the firm’s investment in and commitment to growth in the city.”

The arrival of the Millbank Edge team comes on the back of two new senior summer arrivals in the Manchester corporate team including legal director, Elizabeth Delaney from DWF and associate, Kelly Harvey from Shoosmiths. Other recent recruits include banking partner Martin March, legal directors Matthew Forrest and associates Helen Daley and Hannah Wightman.

NORTHWICH-based PMI Health Group, the UK’s largest independently-owned specialist provider of employee healthcare services, has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of two new senior consultants.
 
Karen Marriott and Dean Harris have arrived and will provide strategic advice to organisations on their employee benefits provision.

Bringing more than 25 years of industry experience to the role, Marriott arrives at the company from Bupa where, as an area sales manager, she developed sales and marketing strategies for the SME market.
 
Harris joins the team from Arch Apprentices, having had more than a decade of experience in various senior sales and business management roles.
 
Dean said: “I am relishing my new position and look forward to supporting what is already a strong, established team.”

PROPERTY consultant Eddisons has boosted its valuation services team with the appointment of three new graduate trainees.

Charlotte Reynolds has joined the valuation division in the firm’s Leeds office, while Chris Holt is based in Manchester and a third new graduate trainee, Tom Colyer, will also work in valuation services from Eddisons’ London office.

LAW firm, Gateley has strengthened its growing planning team with the appointment of a Legal 500-ranked solicitor.

Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) Susan Ehlinger has joined Gateley’s Manchester-based planning team as an associate solicitor.

Ehlinger, who has specialised in planning law for over six years, previously worked as a chartered surveyor and, in her role at global engineering group, Federal-Mogul, had extensive involvement in bringing sites forward for development via the planning regime.

This experience enables Susan to bring a unique blend of commercial and technical expertise to the role, which is set to promote the continuing growth of the national planning team at Gateley Plc.

Head of Gateley’s national planning team, Andrew Piatt, said: “Susan is a welcome addition to our planning team. She will expand and strengthen the offering, particularly by bringing commercial expertise and industry perspective to the team.”

Ehlinger will be involved in the planning team’s full offering, from drafting and negotiating section 106 agreements, town and village green issues and compulsory purchase matters, through to providing highway advice
