Appointments: Weightmans; CLV; Bilfinger GVA & more

THE partners of top 45 national law firm Weightmans has re-elected John Schorah and Dan Cutts as managing partner and senior partner respectively.
They have been elected unopposed for a second three-year term commencing on the 1st May 2016.
Schorah, who joined the firm in 2002 and is based in the Liverpool office, said: “Dan and I are proud to be re-elected. For us, the Weightmans way is about our people delivering expert knowledge, outstanding client service and quality advice, consistently.

Cutts, who has worked at Weightmans for 15 years and will be based in the Leicester office, said: “John and I both share a real passion for Weightmans, our people and most importantly our clients. We will both continue to manage and motivate our teams in our 11 offices across the country, so that we can strengthen our business and continue to exceed client expectations.”
Weightmans recently merged with Leeds firm Ford & Warren, and recently reported record rankings in Legal 500 2015. The firm also took home the Excellence in Training / Talent Management in this weeks The Lawyer Business Leadership Awards.

CAMPUS Living Villages (CLV), which has offices in MediaCityUK in Salford has appointed Higher Education property specialist Martin Hadland as its new UK commercial director.
Hadland joins CLV from international real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle where over the past five years he has worked with a number of universities carrying out strategic reviews for estates portfolios, supporting disposals and considering procurement options for new accommodation.
Prior to this he spent 15 years as a director of estates in the higher education sector working at City University, Brunel University and Middlesex University.
Hadland has taken the lead advisor role on a number of University public-private-partnership projects including: University of Essex, University of Edinburgh, City University, University of Salford, University of Sussex, University of Hertfordshire, University of Gloucestershire, Goldsmiths College and the Royal College of Music.
Martin replaces Sean McKeown who is joining Arlington Advisers as managing director.

BILFINGER GVA continues to grow its national building consultancy team, having announced a significant expansion of its regional offer with three new appointments in Manchester.
Paul Chesworth has been appointed as director in the now 23-strong division, having joined from Robinson Low Francis to expand the teams Cost Advisory offering. Chesworth brings more than 20 years’ experience of traditional and design and build projects spanning the sports and leisure, retail and hotels, public sector, commercial, industrial and health sectors.
Shane Campion has also arrived from RLF, where he worked with Chesworth and has significant experience in the leisure sector.
Thomas Williams is the third addition, joining to continue the growth of its core building surveying services.

FIT out and refurbishment specialist Overbury has promoted Dan Hooker to commercial director following a period of growth for the company’s Northern region.
Hooker, a contracts manager at Overbury for the past six years, has been instrumental in securing and successfully delivering key projects in both Manchester and Leeds.
He boasts more than 20 years’experience in the construction industry having previously worked for the likes of Styles and Wood, ISG and Morgan Sindall.
The promotion, which is effective immediately, will see Hooker work to help strengthen Overbury’s market position and ensure a consistent quality delivery throughout the business.
