Triumph unveils new Bonneville

TRIUMPH, the UK’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles, will today unveil a new Bonneville range.

The business – which now sells its motorbikes in America, Asia, Europe and South America – is confident that the cool credentials of its bike  will significantly enlarge its share of the growing classic bike market.

With North West outlets in Manchester, Blackburn and Chester, and making approximately 55,000 bikes per year, the privately-owned company has consistently punched above its weight, taking the number one spot in the large capacity motorcycle market in four of the past five years since 2011.

In the UK, Triumph currently has a market share of just under 20%, selling approximately 8,000 units in 2014/15.

Looking to its future, Triumph’s new Bonneville family comprises five new bikes – all completely new models designed from the ground up. The London launch this week is the fruition of four years’ work by the firm’s UK design team that currently boasts over 250 engineers.

In the UK alone, the business now employs 500 people, with a global headcount of over 2,000.

The next generation of iconic Bonnevilles includes the 900cc Street Twin, the 1200cc Bonneville T120 and T120 Black, as well as the 1200cc Thruxton and Thruxton R.

Nick Bloor, chief executive of Triumph Motorcycles, said: “The launch of our Bonneville range represents huge investment in our future. It also signals our long-term commitment to new model development and our belief that great design, inspired engineering and a passion for performance are the ingredients for success in the UK and overseas markets.”

Triumph’s new range of Bonnevilles will be available across the brand’s global dealer network in Spring 2016.
