Recruitment up for 30th consecutive month

RECRUITMENT consultants in the North of England reported a further increase in permanent staff placements in October, stretching the current period of expansion to 30 months.

Having accelerated to the quickest since September 2014, the rate of growth was sharp and surpassed the national level, according to KPMG’s Report on Jobs: North.

October saw temp billings in the North of England increase for the 39th straight month.

Jon Holt, office senior partner at KPMG in Manchester, said: “While there remain significant challenges within the region, it is encouraging to see that the North is powering ahead and creating jobs at pace.”
