Flat Cap Hotels completes upgrade at Vicarage

FLAT Cap Hotels has completed the revamp of its first countryside luxury hotel in the North West.

Backed by funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland, a full refurbishment has taken place at The Vicarage Freehouse and Rooms, just outside the village of Holmes Chapel in Cheshire.

A pub and a large restaurant championing some of the best locally sourced produce and British seasonal menus by chef Steven Tuke is now part of the hotel.

The refurbishment also provided a games room, conservatory and library for conference and banqueting as well as various hidden ‘snug’ rooms with restored fireplaces.

The 20 deluxe bedrooms all boast bespoke décor with modern comforts and the latest technology; designed to target corporate cliental and leisure guests who are looking for a weekend retreat.

Flat Cap Hotels has created 40 new jobs at The Vicarage across all departments with experienced management focusing on providing local young and enthusiastic staff a career in hospitality through NVQ programmes and Government apprenticeships.

Coming from a line of hoteliers, brothers Oliver and Dominic Heywood are the third generation to pioneer a new brand of establishments in the North West.

Dominic runs the daily operations with support from Oliver who focuses on the brand and acquisition of new properties.

The ambitious duo are also looking to acquire a further two hotels this year and have a strategy to obtain five hotels under Flat Cap Hotels by 2018.

Flat Cap Hotels director Oliver Heywood said: “After being born in a hotel it comes as no surprise that hospitality runs through our veins.

“The idea for Flat Cap emerged about two years ago after we recognised an evolvement in the hospitality industry and specifically a gap in the North West market for food-led destination venues which blend the style of a country pub & restaurant with a  four star quirky hotel.

“A year later, we couldn’t be more pleased with the design and feel we have achieved at The Vicarage, with further plans to develop 6 large suites and the out buildings into a spa and leisure club with potentially more conference facilities in 2016.”

Michele Fynan, business relationship Manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, added: “We have been overwhelmed by the passion and experience both Oliver and Dominic possess. We are in no doubt they will expand a trusted and loyal brand across the North of England.”
