Car dealer on the road to growth

MP Motor Company has expanded its existing premises after acquiring an additional site in Westhoughton, near Bolton.

The investment will increase the motor retailer’s ability to hold around 300 cars for sale which is a significant uplift from its capacity prior to the acquisition of 200 cars.

Funding to support the purchase has been provided by Royal Bank of Scotland.

Established in 2007 from a 40 car site MP Motor Company Ltd is one of the largest ex-mobility used car sites in the North West.

The family-run firm purchased the site adjacent to its current premises and has been cleared to provide additional space for over 100 cars – increasing their sales potential.

The firm has already increased its workforce within the vehicle preparation department and has future plans to extend the sales team.

MP general manager Nigel Lynch said: “We are an established family business and our success has been built on customer satisfaction and providing real value for money.

“We pride ourselves on supplying quality late plate, low mileage vehicles, including all makes and models, manual, automatics, hatchbacks, saloons, mpvs and 4×4 vehicles, in diesel and petrol variant.

“This acquisition of additional land is a significant move for the business because it represents real growth as our quantities increase and we are very grateful for the bank’s support.”

RBS senior relationship manager Gavin Elmes said: “I am pleased we can support local companies like MP Motor Company who are seeking to make improvements to their business.

“It is a well established and respected motor retailer and the acquisition of the site on Manchester Road is a great investment for the future of this business and sees them deliver an additional 100 cars to market.”
