Places for People launches energy company

PRESTON-based housing provider Places for People which owns and manages 140,000 properties across the UK, has launched an energy company.

Places for People Energy, which has its headquarters at Preston docks in Ashton-on-Ribble, is offering gas and electricity supply to commercial and domestic customers.

As the self-proclaimed only significant energy supplier in the market operating on a not-for-dividend business model, Places for People Energy says it will reinvest any future profits back into the business, resulting in savings that can be passed on to customers in the form of cheaper tariffs.

Adrian Leaker, managing director of Places for People Energy, said: “Forming an energy supply company was a logical step for Places for People, as it will deliver savings and efficiencies to its entire business estate, as well as providing an innovative, ethical alternative for commercial and domestic customers across the North West.”
