Groupe Geraud moves HQ to Prescot

GROUPE Geraud, the largest operator of local authority markets in Europe, has relocated its national head office to Prescot, Merseyside.

The move sees 29 staff based in the offices in the 90,000sq ft Prescot Shopping Centre, which it recently acquired.

A further 14 staff remain at its former offices in Liverpool, where it runs the city’s markets for the city council. Geraud UK employs 130 across the UK.

The company has also acquired the redundant Stephenson’s 2,000sq ft printworks adjacent to the shopping centre, with the aim of improving the customer offer and increasing the tenant mix.

Geraud UK managing director Philip Lamb said: “Our HQ relocation demonstrates our commitment to Prescot.

“We said when we acquired the shopping centre that we wanted to herald an era of transformation for the town centre.

“Firstly we secured the future of the businesses in the centre, and we will be discussing the future development options with Knowsley Council.

“Groupe Geraud is a third generation family business and our ethos is to work together in partnership. We are looking forward to working with Knowsley Council and all businesses in the town to put the heart back into Prescot.”

Cllr Mike Murphy, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development said: “This is another positive piece of news for Prescot.

“We look forward to welcoming Groupe Geraud to Prescot and working with them to support the council’s vision of transforming the town centre into a thriving place for people to visit.”
