Lakes hotel sold for £835,000

WHITE Lodge Hotel at Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lake District has been sold for about £835,000 by the specialist hotels team at real estate advisers Colliers International.

Acting on behalf of Vicky Robinson and Liz Hamilton who have owned and operated the business since 1981, Colliers sold the property with 12 letting bedrooms on Lake Road to Tracey Ireland who is moving from Hest Bank near Lancaster.

Haydn Spedding, associate director at the Manchester office of Colliers, achieved the sale and said: “After Vicky and Liz traded the hotel successfully for the past 34 years, Tracey plans a number of improvements to enhance its performance.

“White Lodge is the latest deal that we’ve negotiated during the autumn of 2015 and which are expected to complete before the Christmas and New Year break.

“This underlines enhanced activity in the Lake District hotel market supported by recent research by tourism bodies in Cumbria showing high occupancy levels in both 2014 and 2015.”
