Mather scores big success with Chelsea museum

CHESHIRE design company Mather & Co has completed the tranformation of entrance to the Chelsea Football Club Museum.
The multi-disciplined company was tasked with creating a designated photo opportunity area to freshen up the entrance, increase revenue and allow for high visitor flow.
Taking just over two months to complete, Wilmslow-based Mather says the new 500sq ft entrance combines innovative design with simple elegance, plus a unique green-screen to immerse guests into the experience.
Originally hidden at the side of the ticketing area, the transformed entrance is now the main route into the museum, providing all visitors the chance to get their hands on the Premier League trophy against the green screen.
Mather managing director Chris Mather said: “We have a long-standing relationship with Chelsea dating back to 2006, and we jumped at the chance to work with them again, creating a fully interactive visitor attraction for the club.
“This most recent project came with its own challenges, but we were delighted to have the opportunity to design a space that would engage guests and fulfill the Museum’s specific requirements.”
Since the original project with Chelsea back in 2006, Mather has gone on to work with some of the biggest Premier League Clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, whilst also completing projects at Wembley Stadium.
Mather’s work has also expanded across many sporting disciplines, with projects including the iconic Olympic Museum in Lausanne, The Springbok Experience in Cape Town and the Norwegian Olympic Museum, which is due to open in February 2016 to coincide with the Youth Olympic Games.
