The role of Chancellor is to act as the most senior ambassador and ceremonial head of the University, promoting its mission, vision and values.

Lord Mandelson will support the efforts of the University leadership team to be world-class providers of education and research, and to work in partnership with business, industry, public sector and university collaborators, as Manchester occupies an increasingly important place on the world stage.
