People: Colliers International; BVS; Brabners

PROPERTY company Colliers International has hired John Brannigan as an associate director to join its growing building surveying and project management team.
 
He joins Colliers from Bilfinger GVA where he spent 11 years as a chartered surveyor, specialising in project management, contract administration, project monitoring, surveys, and dilapidations for various types of buildings and sectors including offices, industrial, retail, healthcare and education.
 
Brannigan’s previous clients included Mansford , Lynton Developments and Dunedin Property. He says his most notable career achievement was the successful completion of a 350,000sq ft distribution centre for a large retail company.
 
Based in Colliers’ new Manchester office at Chancery Place, he will largely cover the North West region, whilst also working closely with Nick Twigg, Head of Building Consultancy for the Northern Region, to support the growth of the team’s client base across the North.

BOLTON-based Building Validation Solutions (BVS) is expanding its operation with the key appointment of Chris Edwards.

Edwards joins the property claims validation specialist at its office at Waters Meeting House  as product development manager, bringing with him his vast experience in the general insurance market working in the claims sector for nearly 20 years.
 
He joins BVS at a crucial time in the company’s history as it bids to expand into new markets and launch a range of exciting new products and services.

COMMERCIAL law firm Brabners has expanded its housing and regeneration team with the appointment of Peter Barlow as partner.

A skilled property lawyer, Barlow will be spearheading the housing and regeneration team in Manchester. He was previously a senior equity partner at Hill Dickinson for more than 20 years.

He specialises in advising clients on multi-million pound sales and acquisitions, development agreements, Golden Brick arrangements, funding agreements, joint venture agreements, management agreements, and commercial leases.
 
At Brabners Barlow will provide strategic legal advice to a wide variety of clients including registered providers, NHS bodies, local authorities, developers, commercial organisations and other public and private sector clients.
