Vets’ group spreads its wings

AN independent veterinary group has merged with a smaller group of vets’ practices in Cheshire and the Stoke-on-Trent area.
Northwich-based Willows Veterinary Group has combined with Charter Veterinary Group, which has a practice and large animal surgery in Congleton and four sites in the North Staffordshire area.
Willows which was established in 1962 as a three-strong farm animal practice, now has 300 employees, 70 vets and operates from 18 small animal practices, five farm practices and two equine centres based throughout Cheshire, the North West and North Wales. It is independently-owned by its partners.
It was advised on the deal by Altrincham-based law firm Myerson Solicitors
Willows partner, Mark Proctor said: “Charter and Willows share a common ethos and it’s this passion for high quality, local service that will bring about a fantastic future together. “
He said the group would look at further mergers as opportunities arise.
