Home care firm passes £1m revenue target

PRESTON-headquartered home care specialist Community Life Choices has increased turnover by 45% during its fifth year of trading, surpassing a £1m revenue target.

The year end figures follow a record-breaking year for the firm, which recorded a 30% increase in client numbers and a 150% rise in demand for its specialist mental health support services.

During 2015, Community Life Choices secured 14 local authority contracts across the UK and created 48 new jobs.

It recently relocated to a larger city centre headquarters, gaining 1,200sq ft of additional space to increase the workforce by a quarter in the next 12 months.

The company offers personalised home care that is tailored to an individual’s exact needs and wishes and is available around the clock; enabling clients to live independently in their homes and avoid residential care stays.

Community Life Choices managing director Alan Frew said: “It’s been another phenomenal year for the business as we continue our mission to provide individualised care and support for vulnerable children, adults and elderly people with complex needs.

“Our growth stems from expanding nationally through local authority contracts as well as word-of-mouth referrals, which is the best endorsement of the quality service we provide.”

The company plans to sustain growth by rolling out a bespoke mental health strategy aligned to evolving social care priorities and reducing public funding needs.

Frew added: “Mental health is one of the biggest unmet needs of our time and personalised home care saves the public purse around £90,000 per person per year compared to residential stays.

“By empowering these individuals to manage their own health budget and regain control over their lives we’ve so far saved the public health budget more than £0.5m.”
