Revenue soars to £15.4m for call centre firm

A FAST-growing Liverpool call centre business has seen its turnover soar by more than 50% to £15.4m.

The Contact Company has filed its accounts for the 12 months to March 2015 and turnover growth has grown from £10.2m the previous year to its current level.

Profits have grown from £270,000 to £1.2m over the same period, which has been reinvested in the opening of a £11m new office at Kingsgate, Tower Wharf.

Chief executive Asif Hamid said turnover and profit for the next year was projected to grow to £19.6m and £1.9m respectively with the five-year plan being to grow turnover to £40m.

The 47-year-old entrepreneur, who is also the vice chairman of Liverpool City Region LEP and chairman of Wirral Chamber of Commerce, said: “We’re delighted with the results and it’s down to the hard work of the staff at The Contact Company.

“When you think that we only founded on 2006 it’s a remarkable story but we see this as just one stepping stone on a long journey.

“The opening of the 48,000 sq ft office in Kingsgate will be the catalyst for our continued growth but we’re not complacent.

“There is always a danger of growing too quickly, which is why we’re holding back on some of our growth plans. We would only take something on if we knew we could deliver a good service.”

The Contact Company has a total of 24 clients, including River Island, Superdrug, Argos and Sainsbury’s. It now employs 1,452 people and is recruiting between 50-100 people a month to meet demand.

Hamid credited some of the growth down to more businesses deciding to outsource their customer service requirement to TCC.

“More and more businesses are looking at their own in-house operations and want to make efficiency savings while offering a first class service,” he said.

“We see ourselves as an extension of our customers’ business and being able to add value to our clients’ propositions. The Contact Company is proud to be an example of the strength of the North West business sector.”
