Mum’s the word for duo

MUMS in the Know, the  network of websites providing hyper-local communities for mothers, has established an office base in Manchester to accommodate its rapid growth.

The network of sites provides localised news, reviews and event information and aims to help families make the most of life in their local area.

The company, which has just been acquired by Lifecycle Marketing, has moved into an eight-person office in the Regus centre on Manchester Business Park.

Company founders Alex Uprichard and Dawn Hayes had been friends for over 10 years before setting up the business in 2012.

They decided to start Mums in the Know after noticing a gap in the market for hyper- local, up-to-date information for parents.

The pair originally worked from home and were adamant from the outset that they wanted to create a flexible business that fitted in with raising their small children.

Hayes said:  “Working from home obviously fit in very well with our family commitments, which was absolutely essential when we started out.

“However, with our continued growth and recent partnership with Lifecycle Marketing, we decided that now the time was right to establish an office base.”

Richard Morris, UK CEO, Regus, comments: “We’re delighted to welcome Mums in the Know to our Regus site on Manchester Business Park. The company is a true local- and national- success story.
