Ladies’ networking event a big hit

A NEW type of business networking event which took place at The Lowry proved a great success with women across Manchester, Salford and Media City.

Almost 60 were attracted to the Unique Ladies Networking inaugural meeting and its blend of informal networking and inspirational speakers.

They heard Amanda Moss – founder of Lifestyle magazine and  Manchester and Liverpool Fashion Weeks –  talking about managing her working life as a mother of six, and award-winning Greater Manchester journalist and media consultant Angela Kelly offering tips and advice on promoting businesses.

The next meeting is on Friday (February 12), from 9am to 11.30am, when Farakh Jabeen will be revealing how she started several businesses.

Grace Dyke, lead for business development, planning and training at Yellow Jigsaw CIC, will tell businesswomen how to get seen and heard by their  target audience.

Unique Ladies costs £15 a meeting with no membership fees. It was started by IT and Telecoms’ consultant Suzy Orr, with her first group established in Lancashire last March and her second in Bolton in September.

“I’m absolutely delighted with the initial response to Unique at The Lowry,” she stated. “There was plenty of business passed at the meeting, excellent contacts made and a real buzz in the room. Its success shows that businesswomen like this different style of networking.”
