Airline steps up flights to Emerald Isle

AER Lingus Regional, operated by Stobart Air, has announced that it will be doubling the frequency of its flights between Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Dublin.

There with up to four departures per day from May 2. The additional departures will bring enhanced onward connectivity to Aer Lingus’ North American route network from Dublin too.

Flights will depart early morning, lunchtime, late afternoon and in the evening and are conveniently timed to connect with Aer Lingus transatlantic flights, with reduced transfer times and greater choice of connections.

Travellers will also have the benefit of US Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance at Dublin airport.

Aer Lingus started its Dublin service from Liverpool in October last year and the additional frequency and convenient timings of flights is targeted at the region’s business passengers, who require choice and flexibility, and particularly to those wishing to conduct a day’s business in Dublin.

The increased frequency from May onwards means that customers flying from Liverpool will now better connect onwards to 10 transatlantic services via Dublin, including New York – JFK, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, Washington, San Francisco and Toronto. New services are also launching from September to Newark New Jersey and Hartford in Connecticut.

LJLA chief executive Andrew Cornish said: “This improved schedule will open up more of Aer Lingus’ excellent long haul airline services for passengers wanting the convenience of starting and ending their journey here at Liverpool.

“The doubling of frequency demonstrates Aer Lingus’ commitment to the region, by further enhancing their services from Liverpool both for those wanting to travel to Dublin or onward to the US.”

Aer Lingus chief commercial officer Keith Butler said: “The increased frequency on the Liverpool service will enable us to offer our guests greater choice and more convenient flight timings throughout the working week.

“Liverpool based guests will enjoy more connecting options at Dublin airport with reduced transfer times.”

Martin Saxton, chief commercial officer at Stobart Air, operator of Aer Lingus Regional, said: “We’re delighted to announce increased frequency on this popular route for passengers. Liverpool is a key destination for Irish passengers and with more daily flights, we’re providing further choice, value and flexibility for our passengers.

“Improving and developing regional connections between the UK and Ireland is paramount for us and our passengers and we continue to enhance and develop the Aer Lingus route network,” he said.
