Nightmare for commuters on motorways

POLICE have closed the a section of the M602 near Manchester due to a major incident, and motorists are facing early morning chaos.

The M602 is closed eastbound between Junctions 1 and 2 and westbound between J3 and J1, due to a police led incident. North West Motorway Police Group are in attendance.

The M60 J12 anti-clockwise/clockwise link road to the M602 J1 is also closed.

Road users wishing to continue their journey travelling east are advised to follow the “Solid Black Diamond” diversion symbol.

They should ake the M60 anti-clockwise, exit at J9 and take the A5081/B5214 north then the A576 north to re-join the M602 at J2.

Road users wishing to continue their journey travelling west are advised to follow the “Solid Black Circle” diversion symbol. Exit M602 J3 and take the A57 west and then reverse of the above eastbound diversion.

Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
