Transport planning firm on the move

TRANSPORT planner SCP, also known as Singleton Clamp & Partners, has relocated to Colwyn Chambers in Manchester city centre.
The company specialises in transportation planning and consultancy on infrastructure designs for the development industry.
SCP has three offices across the UK situated in London, Manchester and Leeds.
In 2015, the decision was made to relocate the Manchester office from 1 Mount Street to the Orbit Developments-owned property on West Mosley Street.
The company shortlisted the 4,000sq ft office suite at Colwyn Chambers and committed to the new offices shortly after.
David Roberts, director of SCP said: “After 16 years at our Mount Street office, during which time the business has grown from 12 staff to our present total of 34 staff, we are now looking forward to the opportunities that are brought about by a further 60% expansion in our Manchester floor space.”
“We are already enjoying improved meeting room facilities and improved staff break-out areas that bring benefits to both visitors and staff members.
“We are also able to recruit further staff to meet current workloads and develop the range of services further for the benefit of our Clients and their professional advisers.”
Grade II-listed Colwyn Chambers has recently undergone a transformation of its reception, core and office spaces.
Working closely with ADT, Orbit Developments aimed to create a modern reception area to strike the balance between a classic yet contemporary workspace, which aims to appeal to businesses looking for offices with character in the city centre.
The design team also took the opportunity to enhance the customer’s journey through reception with artwork inspired by photos of the property dating back to the 1800s.
Adam Jackson, senior leasing surveyor at Orbit Developments said: “Colwyn Chambers benefits from a striking Grade II listed façade and it was important that the new reception area would complement the exterior features of the building.
“We are very happy to welcome SCP to Colwyn Chambers and wish them the very best as they continue to grow their operations.”
