Constructor on £3.86m scheme to remodel 1970s homes

BARDSLEY Construction, based in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, has secured its first project with Ladson Developments having been appointed to provide 160 studio apartments for students in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

The scheme valued at £3.86m involves family-owned Bardsley refurbishing and remodelling the 1970s-built Blackburn House office building to create the apartments with offices and residents’ gym, to be called Keele House.

Conversion of the building for Cheadle -based Ladson will involve the provision of new windows and over cladding, an internal fit-out to form the 160 apartments and full mechanical and electrical installation.

Bardsley is due to start work on site in March 2016 with the project due for completion in December.

Bardsley Construction, founded in 1964 and with a turnover in excess of £50m, recently featured in a London Stock Exchange (LSE) listing of the 1,000 companies to inspire Britain.
