LESS than two years after breaking its ties to Rochdale Council, to create a new social enterprise, Heywood-based PossAbilities has landed a £6.5m new contract.
The company which provides support to vulnerable adults across the Rochdale MBC area, has won a three year contract to provide supported living services in Widnes and Runcorn.
Worth £6.5m, the contract with Halton Borough Council, will see PossAbilities take on 110 new staff and open a new office in Widnes.
Rachel Law, chief executive said: “This is a magnificent step forward for us as a company. Coming as it did shortly after the Care Quality Commission rated us as ‘outstanding’, the Big Lottery Fund granted £267,000 for us to bring Homeshare to the North and winning £137,000 for our Cherwell Wellbeing Garden, these are heady times.
“I think it’s a great reflection on the brilliant work that PossAbilities people are doing day in and day out.”
