£1m expansion for stillages firm

JS Burgess Engineering, the UK’s largest independent manufacturer of stillages and associated products, is to invest more than £1m into additional factory space and machinery at its base in Whalley Bridge, High Peak.

Managing director Jonny Patoff, Managing Director said the expansion was necessary to continue to provide high quality services to new and long-standing clients.

He said:“Towards the end of last year we purchased adjacent factory buildings, which has enabled us to increase our production capacity whilst at the same time reducing our lead times – it was important that we found ways to improve our flexibility to respond quickly to our customers.”

“We are proud to be a British manufacturer and believe this investment is a clear indication of our commitment to the future prospects for UK companies.”

JS Burgess claims to be one of the few firms able to fund, project manage, manufacture and deliver large production runs.  The expansion includes investment in a range of new machinery, plant and equipment – including two purpose built spray booths and a state-of-the-art steel saw.

The growth has enabled Burgess to take on extra staff including an additional dedicated CAD designer which will aid the expediency of order enquiries, processing and fulfilment, a key element to facilitate the company’s continued growth.

JS Burgess Engineering is already a supplier to a number of major companies in diverse industries, including Toyota and Network Rail.
