Movers and shakers set to wow Invest to Grow event

TWO award-winning North West businesses are to enter the spotlight to reveal how they have achieved significant growth and success.

The Invest to Grow event, hosted by Barclays, takes place on Thursday April 28 at the Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

Guests will hear from David Smith, economics editor at The Sunday Times, alongside Tom Duffy, managing director of toy wholesaler SAMBRO International and Garry Partington, chief executive of data collection and analytics specialist RealityMine.

Smith, who has been in his role since 1989 and is also chief leader-writer, assistant editor and policy adviser, will share his views on the current economic landscape and outlook for 2016, before moderating the discussion with the two panelists.

Bury-based SAMBRO is an award-winning wholesaler of licensed children’s products including world famous franchises Disney’s FROZEN and Transformers.

The team at SAMBRO has worked tirelessly over the past few years to grow the business and is constantly seeking new markets overseas.

Last year Sambro attracted private equity investment, positioning the company for the next phase of its development. The company recently won several awards including North West International Business of the Year, North West Finance Director of the Year, Nickelodeon Licensee of the year as well as several awards for their product innovation.

Manchester-based RealityMine develops innovative technology solutions for the research industry. Since its inception in 2012, the business has achieved rapid and exponential growth, with their services now live in more than 22 countries around the world, spanning every continent.

Only recently, RealityMine won the judges innovation award at the GP Bullhound Northern Tech Awards 2016. It has ambitious expansion plans, bringing innovative technologies to market and launching in new territories.

Barclays will also be holding Invest to Grow events on the evening of May 10, at Blackburn Rovers Football Club and on May 17, at Hotel Titanic in Liverpool.

Attendees at the Blackburn event will hear from Bury carpet manufacturer Greenwood & Coope, Blackburn-based Heritage Envelopes, Blackpool-manufacturer Laila’s Fine Foods and The Swan Hotel, Cumbria.

The Liverpool event’s speakers include transport product manufacturer Cartwright Group, marine consultants Brookes Bell, healthcare specialist Proton Partners, and manufacturers Rock Chemicals and Powder Systems.
