Law firm appoints new head of family

NIGEL Shepherd has been appointed as head of family at law firm Mills & Reeve.

He has succeeded previous joint heads Roger Bamber and David Salter.

Shepherd, who is ranked in the top tier of legal guides where he is hailed for “getting the results clients are looking for” is a specialist family lawyer, collaborative lawyer and family arbitrator with more than 35 years’ experience dealing mainly with the more complex financial issues on divorce.

Shepherd said: “It’s a real honour to be taking on the role of Head of Family at Mills & Reeve, particularly as I am succeeding Roger Bamber and David Salter who are both giants of family law.

“My priority is to maintain and build on Mills & Reeve’s reputation as the leading national firm for family law work, delivering outstanding client service with a settlement focus in complex cases, locally, nationally and internationally.”

Shepherd has also taken over as chair of national family law organisation, Resolution. It is a move that has seen him become the only lawyer to be national chair twice – the last time being from 1995 to 1997.
