GREATER Manchester brewery JW Lees has hired Nik Waring as its first director of people.
She joins the Middleton company’s board on June 1, heading up the people development and HR department.
Managing director William Lees-Jones said: “People have always been at the heart of JW Lees and our ‘be yourself’ culture is all about helping every colleague working at JW Lees fulfil their true potential.
“We are looking forward to Nik joining us and bringing a new dimension to our board.”
Waring joins JW Lees from webuyanycar.com after starting her career at Asda before moving on to Heinz.

LIVERPOOL marketing agency Kenyons has appointed five new staff following strong growth in the first quarter of the year.
The new people join as Kenyon Fraser rebrands to become Kenyons, as part of its expansion plans for 2016.
Kenyons has strengthened its content and social media team with new account executives Luke Randall and Hannah Jones.
Other appointments include account executive Lewis Webster – working with the marketing team – and videographer Daniel Orr.
Italian graphic designer Antonino Dado joins the award-winning studio team.
Roger Kenyon, Kenyons’ chairman, said: “We’ve seen a raft of major new client wins, which we’ll be announcing in the coming weeks, added to which we’ve seen a number of new commissions from existing clients.
“The work is across all our disciplines but in particular our video content team has seen a really strong performance in the first quarter. The new appointments will help service the workload and drive growth, as we begin the start of the new financial year as Kenyons.”

CHARLOTTE Beck, family law specialist at Bolton based law firm KBL Solicitors has taken up her position as head of divorce and family law.
Beck, 34, joined the practice in 2005 as a Trainee Solicitor, qualified in 2007 and in recognition of her hard work and dedication was promoted to Associate in 2013.
She will take over the reins from well-known local lawyer Nick Lewis who recently retired from the practice he helped set up in 1985.
Having worked alongside Lewis for the past five years, Beck has helped the department grow from strength to strength and is delighted to take on her new role as head of department.
Beck said: “I am very excited about heading up the department; it’s fantastic to have been given this opportunity here at KBL. Working alongside Nick for a number of years I have gained a wealth of experience and I am committed to delivering the same high level of service to clients.”
