Focus on women at IFB2016

MORE than 160 of the UK’s top female business leaders are to attend an event at the International Festival for Business to discuss key issues facing women across the globe.
The organisation Forward Ladies is hosting conference including speakers, seminars and product showcases at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool on June 17, sponsored by HSBC.
IFB2016 is running from June 13 to July 1 at the venue.
Keynote speaker for the event is Lady Barbara Judge, the first female president of the Institute of Directors, who will be hosted by Griselda Togobo, owner and managing director of Forward Ladies and Awovi Consulting.
Togobo said: “This is a major event for women who are already working internationally, or who want a global presence, and we are honoured to be associated with such a prestigious festival. Our programme of activities has been put together to create a diverse range of speakers and topics to encourage women to think about working internationally.
“Although the event is in Liverpool, it has great significance for businesses across the UK and has attracted major industries to take part.”
The event will also include panel sessions including “pushing boundaries” – how female leaders thrive in international business with Ali Gayward, UK commercial manager for EasyJet and Andrea Adams, managing director of Triumpha.
The future of women in the creative and digital and industries will also be discussed with Leisa Docherty – director of diversity and inclusion, Sage PLC, UK HR director and Deborah Mills, EVP, global business leader for Proctor & Gamble at Saatchi & Saatchi
There will also be a focus on building and leveraging relationships globally with Deborah Leary, chief executive of Forensic Pathways and director of Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network, Griselda Togobo, managing director of Forward Ladies and Maggie Berry – executive director for WE Connect, Europe
There will also be break-out sessions with Carolyn Pearson founder of Maiden Voyage.com, Marie Mohan, chief executive of Common Purpose UK and Natalie Reynolds, founder and chief executive of advantageSpring.
