Regeneration lettings boost in town

KAMES Capital’s Property Income Fund has completed two new lettings at its 75,000sq ft office building Kingsgate in Stockport’s town centre.

Fichtner Consulting, one of the world’s largest engineering firms and an existing tenant of Kingsgate, has re-geared and extended its existing leases in the six- storey building to 10 years including an additional 3,214sq ft, bringing the total space occupied to 19,500 sq ft.

Finance 4 Me, which has relocated from Didsbury, has also completed the letting of a 3,210 sq ft suite in the building on a four-year lease.

Quoting rental levels at Kingsgate, whose tenants also include the NHS & General Physics, are at £11.75 per sq ft with only 14,000 sq ft remaining available.  WHR and JLL are the joint lettings agents.

Harry Skinner of WHR added: “Kingsgate is one of Stockport’s most high profile office buildings and continues to attract new occupiers.  The proactive approach of the new owners means that the building can accommodate smaller requirements of 200 – 1,000 sq ft up to larger suites of 7,000 sq ft.

“The Stockport office market has experienced a busy first half of the year, which is due to its excellent transport links to both Manchester and London and the ongoing investment into the regeneration of the town.”
