People on the move: PwC; Manchester Building Society; Stanley House Hotel & Spa; ROQ IT; Oltec FM

ANDREW Kimber one of the country’s leading specialists in valuing and derivatives has joined PwC’s as the regional derivative valuation leader.

Kimber will be responsible for developing PwC’s UK regional derivative valuation and market risk business.

He has extensive experience of derivatives and risk management, previously holding senior positions within the front office, managing market and credit risk for a major investment bank and asset manager.

Prior to joining PwC Kimber was at Ernst & Young where he was responsible for   running their UK derivatives valuation group.


Kimber has presented numerous training courses, on derivative pricing and market risk management, to a variety of tier 1 banks and major financial institutions and has a PhD in theoretical physics from Oxford University.

He said: “PwC has a significant footprint within this sector and is the only professional services business within the UK to have dedicated teams of scale in locations throughout the UK.

“I am particularly excited by the challenges ahead specifically on how we can build on our existing successful strategy and cement our position as the market leader in providing regionally focussed derivative valuation expertise to our wide range of clients”.

MANCHESTER Building Society Group has appointed Paul Lynch as its interim chief executive.

This follows the decision by Allan Hodges, who has been interim chief executive of the Society since May 2013, to step down from the role.

Lynch, currently operations director of the Society, has been appointed subject to regulatory approval. He has been with the Society since 1985 and has been Operations Director since 2002.

David Harding, chairman of the Society, said: “I would like to thank Allan for all his efforts in leading the Society during the last three years – it has been a pleasure to work with him and I wish him all the best for the future.

“Paul has played an invaluable role as operations director of the Society and I look forward to working with him in his new role of interim chief executive.”

STANTLEY House Hotel and Spa at Mellor, near Blackburn, has appointed a new manager to head up its luxury spa.
 
Sarah Wellfair joins the Spa at Stanley House from the renowned House of Elemis in Mayfair, where she was manager for over two years and catered to the strict beauty regimes of the rich and famous.
 
Wellfair, who started her career as a beauty therapist 13 years ago, has more than seven years’ experience in managing notable spas across the globe.
 
Her career highlights include delivering treatments to guests while traveling the world with luxury cruise liner Celebrity Cruises, as well as working as a private therapist at a number of chalets in France’s Val d’Isere ski resort.
 
The 39-year-old, who is originally from Cheltenham, brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience relating to beauty treatments, spa therapies, health and wellbeing. She will be responsible for delivering a first-class guest experience at Stanley House’s award-winning spa.
 
She said: “I’m well-travelled so I’ve seen a lot of the world but the views at Stanley House really are breathtaking. I’m used to busy city life but I’m loving life in the country, it’s a great environment to live and work in. I’m thriving in my new role at Stanley House.”

ROQ IT, the Chorley-based leading strategic software testing service and solutions provider, appointed Juliet Godfrey as its new service delivery and innovation manager.

Godfrey has joined the leadership team as the company continues with its significant growth plans, whilst establishing ROQ IT as the UK’s Premier Test Lab for its global client base.

She will be responsible for service delivery excellence and innovation, focused on achieving the highest levels of client satisfaction, whilst providing sales support for new and existing clients to support the growth of the business.

WIGAN-based facilities management provider Oltec FM has appointed three new staff to its senior team.

Mark Green, Brian Clarke and Emily Huggins have all joined the firm as it continues with ambitious nationwide growth plans.

The business employs more than 1,000 staff across the UK, delivering a wide range of facilities management services, including cleaning, security and customer services to major sites nationwide.

Green and Clarke both join as joins as a FM regional and Huggins becomes regional service manager.
