Home technology specialist on course for £4m revenue

CHESHIRE-based home technology integrator Finite Solutions is celebrating a 25% increase in turnover to £3.4m for 2015/16.

The company, which operates nationally and internationally, attributes much of the strong growth to an increase in lighting design and smart control installations which it has added to its suite as a specialist service.

Finite Solutions is known for providing award winning solutions to whole house automation projects including home cinema, security, and audio visual systems that are fully integrated into smart phone and tablet interfaces.

It claims to be one of the industry’s most successful businesses and was this month nominated for a record breaking five industry awards by governing body, CEDIA.

Simon Mathieson, director and one of the founding partners of Finite Solutions, said, “We are pleased to report continued growth this year and in particular for lighting design and control.

“There has been a significant increase in home owners recognising the striking impact that a well-considered lighting scheme will make on the end result of a well-designed home, enhancing both the interior and architectural design features.

“The lighting design services that we provide ensure a professional, pre-planned installation in collaboration with architects and other contractors from the start of any refurbishment, extension or new build to help exceed client expectations.”

Finite Solutions has offices in Cheadle, Leeds, York, London and more recently Surrey. It employs 29 people across the UK and has plans to expand with a presence in the Midlands in the near future.

Projects that have boosted turnover for this year include a £250,000 full house automation, lighting and home cinema in Hale, a £300,000 lighting and home automation project in Leeds, and a £350,000 integrated project in Knightsbridge in London.

Mathieson said: “Looking to the future, we are rapidly increasing our lighting design services and looking to expand across the midlands with possible acquisitions and further recruitment, and have set out to achieve our target of £4m in turnover for 2016/17.”

The UK residential custom home installation sector is now estimated to be worth around £1.07bn according to CEDIA. Audio visual projects still account for nearly 50% of all installations in the UK with home cinemas/media rooms taking a 21% slice and lighting control/design the second most popular at 12%.
