Apartments plan next to Lowry Hotel gets green light

PLANNING permission has been given for 506 residential apartments next to the Lowry Hotel on the banks of the River Irwell.
The two buildings, Riverside and Riverview, will operate under Select Property Group’s Affinity Living brand.
Located on New Bailey Street next to the riverside footpath that links Spinningfields to Blackfriars Street, the 35 storey building, Affinity Living Riverview, will house 318 apartments, while the 17 storey building, Affinity Living Riverside, will comprise of 188 apartments.
The buildings will feature a range of indoor and outdoor social spaces and facilities, including large shared lounge areas which will be open to the public, private dining rooms, co-working spaces and a gym.
Alongside a mix of studios, one and two-bedroom apartments, level 35 of Riverview will also feature a roof garden, media room and private entertainment space with views over the city.

We are delighted to have been granted planning permission and look forward to starting work on the site.”
The decision marks the third planning approval given for Select’s Affinity Living residential brand, after approval was granted for 677 apartments at Circle Square last month, a joint venture project with Bruntwood, and for 684 apartments at Embankment West in May.
Work will start on site in October with Riverside scheduled for completion at the end of the first quarter of 2018 and Riverview at the end of of 2019.
